I finished my first pair of REAL socks. Admire their beauty!
Look at the fine detail on the baby cables! You're drooling, I know you are.
Now, before you all start e-mailing me requesting your own pair, I feel I must explain their tremendous value.
Yarn: Socks That Rock 100% superwash merino in Metamorphic colourway, $25.99
Time and labour: 20 hours (approximately) at $30/hr, based on how much money I could be making if I was teaching piano instead of knitting.
Total time and labour = $600
Grand Total for one pair of custom made socks = $625.99
It's a total bargain! Don't wait another second to order YOUR custom made foot nirvana!
I love the close-up! Still doesn't do the colors justice, though. And I'm so happy I can make my own because I just don't think I could pay over $600 for a pair of socks - but I bet they are worth every penny.
ReplyDeleteThey look great! I'm always sort of shocked when I make something and then stop to think about how much I would have to sell it for just to break even. How do all those wonderful Etsy people do it?
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Must find a way to make money knitting socks on Etsy. Or at least get yarn for free...
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your Sensational Socks, Andi!
Wow. I am TOTALLY impressed. I tried knitting once, but turns out I'm too Type-A. I gave myself carpal tunnel!
ReplyDeleteGreat socks, I was thinking of requesting a pair until I saw the price.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could share where you learned to knot them?
omg! i love them. i would totally pay $625.99 for a pair of socks like...now if only i can get my hubby to approve the PayPal transaction, i can put my order in! ;-)
ReplyDeleteoh...does that include GST and PST???? ;-)
I crochet so I totally understand the price and think you are right on target.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to learn to knit though. I think the stitches are much prettier than crochet.
Great work!
Lurve them! So wish I had an extra $625.99!!
