I'm as shocked as you are

I read a book.

An entire book.  With no illustrations or references to a singing backpack, fire trucks, construction equipment or Sir Topham Hat.

The book had over 200 pages and a TON of footnotes.

And I read it in under a week.

As the mother of a 22 month old and 8 week old, I think you should be impressed.

  3. I am very impressed! I read a lot when I had a newborn, but I didn't have a toddler as well...
I haven't read this one, what did you think of it?

  5. Spiritual but not religious14 June 2009 at 10:51

I should have known, only a religious pusher would have to rely on this type of trick to promote their message. I am just so suck of people who need to push religion, why can't someone just enjoy and be comfortable with their own beliefs and not feel the need to recruit?

Maybe read a non-fiction book next time.

  6. Dear Spiritual but not religious:

With all due respect, you weren't forced to read my blog post, nor click on the link, so I cannot see how I am pushing anything on anyone. The post was about the fact that I accomplished reading a book, not about the book itself. I only posted the link because of the inevitable question "What book did you read?"

As for the non-fiction comment, I find it interesting that you would find it necessary to be playing defense of your non-Christian views when I didn't mention anything remotely religious in the entire post. But that is your issue, not mine.

  8. Holy shazow! I believe you. I can read pretty fast, too, when I don't have the kids to worry about. I used to read a novel every day during the summer months growing up. Speed Reading is my bag ;)
